Oliver was the general contractor for our custom home on Ripley St. in San Francisco. We had worked with Oliver before on a kitchen remodel in our previous home. Oliver pays great attention to detail, quality, and final finish. We are very pleased with the outcome. Oliver does what he says he is going to do and is there until the job is finished.
When we did the Kitchen remodel in the last house, I was impressed with his understanding of the fact that we were living in the house and his ability to keep the house clean and sectioned off from the mess. They put up plastic and kept cleaning. Despite living through a kitchen remodel, I did not feel that my home was dirty.

After another contractor had been dragging his feet on my bathroom remodel for months and had left me with shoddy finish work, Oliver came in and rescued me on very short notice. He completed the remodel in two weeks, including addressing all of the mistakes of the prior contractor, and now I have a beautiful and functioning bathroom! Oliver completed all of the work in a timely and professional fashion, and at a reasonable price.
I would happily recommend him to anyone. You won”t have to worry about the job going on longer than it should, costing more than it should, or not turning out as it should. After all I went through with the other contractor, this was truly a blessing!

Oliver recently completed a fairly significant overhaul of my old flat in Noe Valley, including the complete renovation of an outdated bathroom and the installation of recessed lights in almost every room of the property.  He was clear about the scope, costs, time-line as well as the unexpected “surprises” that seem to come up with any renovation, especially in old houses like mine.  He was also patient with my admittedly obsessive focus on some nitpick details, and he addressed my concerns. Oliver did a kitchen remodel for us and was  our GC on a house build in Bernal Heights. He is honest and reliable.Building a  house requires a lot of attention to detail on a daily basis and coordinating many different subcontractors. Oliver handled this with ease. One area where Oliver excelled beyond any contractor I have had was in our kitchen remodel. We were living in the home during the remodel. Oliver put up plastic and somehow manage to keep the dust and mess out of the rest of the house. This was a down-to-the studs remodel, so I was amazed he was able to do this.

Earlier this year Oliver Mackin completed a renovation of our kitchen and 2 bathrooms.  He did a fantastic job for us.  The project was done in a timely and professional manner.  Oliver’s greatest assets are his calm demeanor and the strong relationships he has built with his sub-contractors.  No contractor you hire will work as hard to make sure the job is done right. And when issues arose, as they will in any job of this size, Oliver was able to calmly and rationally able to resolve the problem to our satisfaction. He was honest and straightforward about the timeline and the cost.  The job was complicated slightly by the fact we were in the process of a TIC conversion. The only additional expense was on some electrical upgrades for the conversion, and even in that instance he had warned us that some of the costs were uncertain.  The project would have been completed ahead of schedule except for a delayed kitchen sink that was completely out of Oliver’s control. We have had similar size projects in the past with other contractors in other cities.  Oliver is one contractor we would absolutely recommend you talk to about your project.
